Ever since his first visit to the magical Hall of Mirrors at Versailles Palace, superstar classical pianist Lang Lang had dreamed of performing there. His dream came to fruition in the form of a special concert there in June 2015. Lang Lang returned to China in 2005-2006 for an eight-city concert and to record the Dragon Songs album. This documentary of Lang Lang's China visit offers an intimate portrait of the pianist giving masterclasses, surrounded by fans, at home with his family, and on the road.

At the beginning of the twentieth century, the young Chinese pianist divided music lovers: some hailed his desire to popularise classical music, others scoffed at his ‘showman’ side. In 2003, Lang Lang's recital at Carnegie Hall was his baptism by fire. A star was born. This concert was also an opportunity for the musician to emancipate himself from his ambitious father, whom he invited to play on stage with him at the end of the concert.
